You’re Welcome Introductory Training

This one-day course is targeted at health services undertaking the You’re Welcome quality mark. The training day will give participants the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to implement You’re Welcome in health service settings. Follow-up support visits are offered and recommended. It is recommended that a minimum of two colleagues (and a maximum of four) attend the same training day to maximise the learning and facilitate embedding of You’re Welcome in your service. The course will: • give a broad overview of You’re Welcome: aims, purpose, policy drivers and process • give a brief description of the You’re Welcome quality assurance framework • explore the You’re Welcome workbook and help you start to develop your action plan • examine the meaning of 'participation' and explore a variety of ways of 'involving and engaging' young people in service improvement • explore attitudes and values underpinning You’re Welcome • identify 'first steps' for your health setting working towards the You’re Welcome quality mark Please note that although this course is offered through Newcastle Sexual Health Training, it does not contain any sexual health content and is suitable for all health services, NHS and non-NHS, clinical and non-clinical settings.
