Elswick Road between the junctions of Westgate Road and Sovereign Place, Corporation Street, Westgate Road, Rye Hill Roundabout
Road closures include: Back Lancaster Street, Back York Street (East), Colby Court, Somerset Place, Gloucester Terrace, Park Close, Sovereign Place, Back Warrington Road and Back Elswick Road. This is to allow for the construction of raised tables / road humps and will be for a short period of time with diversion routes in place.
• Closure is for all vehicles.
• Access will be permitted for emergency services.
• Access will be permitted for pedestrians.
• Access will be permitted for residents in cul de sacs.
• The closures will be implemented in phases and will be in operation when the relevant signs are displayed.

On Sunday 29th October it is proposed to close the following roads to facilitate a parade:

In addition to the above closures it is also proposed to prohibit any vehicle the width of which (inclusive of any load on the vehicle) exceeds 3.4 metres and any vehicle the height of which exceeds 3.4 metres on the following road:
(a) Tyne Bridge (in both directions) – From its junction with Pilgrim Street Roundabout in a southerly direction for its entire length within Newcastle City Boundary.
The restrictions in (a) above will be in place from:
22:00 on 27th October to 05:00 on 28th October 2017
22:00 on 28th October to 05:00 on 29th October 2017
22:00 on 30th October to 05:00 on 31st October 2017 (contingency)
22:00 on 31st October to 05:00 on 1st November 2017 (contingency)
The restrictions are necessary in order to facilitate the safe running of the event and diversion routes will be signed.
Diversions will be put in place
carrying out repair works to a manhole opposite the Westerhope Institute building on Hillheads Rd on Sunday 15/10/17 from 10am to 4pm.
The T/m will consist of priority signs and chapter 8. The T/M will be installed until the following morning at 6am to allow for the material to cure
Hume Street and it’s junction with Maling Street and Ford Street junction. Lane closures and temporary signals on Saturday 14th and full road closure on Sunday 15th. Access to Hume St at the west end from Ford Street will remain open.
