    Emma studied in London then worked at Penguin for two years, She spent a decade teaching English before moving to the French Alps where, for six years, she ran a ski and snowboard lodge. She now lives in Derbyshire and is a lecturer in English and
    Creative Writing at Keele University.

    Join us for this showing of a series of new short films about people buried in St James’ Graveyard in Benwell. Hear the stories of the rich and famous (including developer and builder Richard Grainger, mining engineer John Buddle and millionaire businessman Walter Scott), workers in the coal mines and engineering factories, and the children of the area whose lives were too often cut short by poverty and disease.
