GemArts are delighted to welcome back to the North East Mayuri Boonham’s company ATMA Dance as they present two new complimentary dance works, Ex Nihilo/The Human Edge. Taking inspiration from sacred texts of India to explore the metaphysical origins of matter and the ancient questions of creation and human life. The work includes sound recordings of The Large Hadron Collider, made by Bill Fontana as part of his Prix Ars Electronica artist residency at CERN.
The performance will be followed by an informal In Conversation with Mayuri Boonham (ATMA Dance) and Dr Alexander Lenz (Deputy Director, IPPP - Durham University) discussing themes from the work, considering artistic and scientific questions.
Date: Saturday 29th November
Time: 7 pm Introduction, 7:30pm Performance, followed by In Conversation
