Showcasing some of the best emerging music in the North East and celebrating the launch of Amazing Media’s newly formed independent record label, Amazing Record Co., this special gig features Tessera Skies and Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, plus Immy Williams.
Since forming in late-2012, Tessera Skies have received critical acclaim for their previous releases. Coming from collective backgrounds in speech, sound, science, classical and jazz, Tessera Skies create music that transcends multiple genres, blurring the lines between pop, ambient, and orchestral.
Bridie Jackson and the Arbour are a Newcastle quartet of folk-influenced musicians; creating works of haunting beauty, both sparse and detailed. With rich vocal harmonies and subtle string arrangements, they are led by Bridie’s remarkable voice and evocative wordplay, at once dark and playful, joyous and melancholic.
Having won the 2013 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition and played live sessions for Dermot O’Leary and Tom Robinson, the band’s widespread appeal is evident.
Immy Williams has already built up quite a reputation for herself since bursting onto the local scene a couple of years ago. The success of her latest single ‘The Ocean’ has seen the talented singer-songwriter benefit from increased industry interest and lead to her securing a headlining slot at this year’s Evolution Emerging.
