Description:

Yippee Ki-Ay Newcastle! We're decking the halls with boughs of machine guns, quips and Holly (McClane) with a Xmas special, Die Hard pop up film screening at World HQ, 12th December.

Grab your white vest and come join us in this amazing film extravaganza with new pop up cinema in Toon – Pop Up Pictures. Often seen as one of the best Christmas movies of all time, Die Hard is the perfect picture to get you into a festive mood.

The event asks everyone to get into the Xmas spirit and help to raise money for the Philippine Typhoon Appeal via Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). ALL profits from the event being donated to the charity.

Pop Up Pictures is set up to screen cult, classic and popular films from the past in unique locations in Newcastle and this is their very special inaugural event. For Die Hard, they’ve taken over World HQ in Newcastle, SWAT style.

For £10 a ticket, with all profits going to the DEC, all film goers will enjoy free popcorn and treats provided by Deli Delivered, a free ‘Smokee-ki-ay’ smoking cocktail (that actually smokes!) from The Cocktail Project and their very own santa hat!

The night will also feature an action packed themed film quiz, with prizes donated by Forbidden Planet. Forbidden Planet, will also be providing a prize for the very best costume – so they want to see the very best John McClanes, Hans, henchmen and Holly’s!

Commenting on the event – Sandra Tang, organiser of Pop Up Pictures explains “This is a great charity event and we hope to raise lots of money for this cause”

“Pop Up Pictures originated from personally wanting to see some of these films on the big screen and invite like-minded people to a really fun event. It'll be a great way to experience some of your favourite films, but in an even bigger and better way!”

Pop Up Pictures kindly asks people to refrain from throwing fire hoses out of the building and climbing in ventilation shafts for the event but any additional charity donations on the night will be appreciated.
