Description:

Get ready to swap!

Bring surplus produce from your allotment or garden and swop it for something that you don’t have. If you don’t have surplus produce that you have grown, then bake a cake, make some jam, pick some blackberries and bring that to swap instead.

All sorts of things are swappable…

last year people swapped;

Fruit, vegetables, eggs, cut flowers, jam, elderflower cordial, apple juice, homemade cakes or other homemade food, blackberries picked from the hedgerow, seeds to swap, compost, well rotted horse manure!, plant feed from wormeries, honey, even cleaned out jam jars - as every jam maker needs jam jars!

Note: If you are bringing home produced food like cakes or jam then please have a quick look at our food safety guidelines at http://ne.wea.org.uk/get-involved/green-branch Don’t worry, they are very easy to follow.

If you really have nothing to swap, come along anyway! For £2 you can buy some jam from us and have a go at swapping. There will also be tea and coffee, and stalls selling lunch. There will also be tours of the gardens.

All events are free of charge.
