Description:

The clock is ticking until panto season and we'll have a ball when the enchanting rags-to-riches tale of Cinderella comes to town!

ITV’s Benidorm actress, regular Loose Women panellist and Coronation Street legend Sherrie Hewson will sparkle this festive season in the pivotal role as the Fairy Godmother, showing that dreams really do come true. Sherrie is one of the most respected actresses in the country and has been in the business for over 40 years.

Sherrie is thrilled to be starring in the pantomime and is looking forward to sharing a wonderful Christmas and New Year with everyone in Sunderland.

The charming and enchanting role of Cinderella will be played by Amy Thompson, a familiar face on Channel 5’s Milkshake. Unsung hero Buttons will be played by Jamie Rickers (CITV and Nickelodeon) and is guaranteed to keep audiences entertained in his jovial pursuit of Cinderella.

The only other ingredients needed to guarantee yet another mesmerising and magical traditional pantomime at its very best include the handsome Prince Charming who will be played by Owen Thompson, Bobby Windebank as Dandini, Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph as the dastardly Ugly Sisters and of course the fabulous Shetland Ponies live on stage!

Cinderella promises to be a treat for the whole family, jam-packed with music and dance, fun and laughter, glittering sets and costumes. Forced into a life of drudgery by her wicked stepsisters, Cinderella dreams of escape and romance. With the help of a Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin and a touch of magic Cinderella is whisked off to the Prince’s Ball... but will she live Happily Ever After? Accept your invitation to the North East’s grandest ball and find out!

We're delighted to welcome back Martin Dodd for UK Productions who brought us last year's high flying adventure and critically acclaimed Peter Pan, and who is one of the country's leading musical theatre producers.

The performance on Friday 20 December at 7pm will be signed.

The performance on Friday 3 January at 2.30pm will be a Relaxed performance (for further information please contact the venue directly for details).
